Duke Farms Hosting Friday Sustainability Event
Public welcome at regeneration and planting project.
Duke Farms is the site of a habitat regeneration project and planting event that will include more than 100 local residents in promoting sustainability and achieving a positive environmental impact.
The public is welcome and invited to attend the event, which will begin on Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The event is in partnership with Viridian Energy and is part of the company’s 30-day “Earth Month” campaign. During this month, Viridian is hosting community sustainability events throughout the Northeast, including beach sweeps, neighborhood clean-ups, and regeneration projects such as the one at Duke Farms.
Viridian will also be hosting a food drive at the event. The company is a leading provider of green energy.
Viridian chose to partner with the 2,700-acre property dedicated to environmental stewardship. It is one of the largest privately-owned parcels of undeveloped land in the state, it is rich in agricultural, horticultural and ecological resources and designed to inspire visitors to become informed stewards of the land.
