Residents with questions about the district's Bulding on Excellence Plan and its World Language

Here's what you need to know today:

You Need to Know About Books: The Hillsborough Public Library hosts a preschool book club for children ages three to five and their parents at 10 a.m. today. Those attending will read books by Laura Numeroff and share book-related activities. Registration is required, so you’ll need to call the Children’s Desk at 908-369-2200, extension 14.

You Need to Know About Gmail: The Hillsborough Public Library hosts an introduction to Gmail at 1 p.m. today. A limited number of laptops are available so those who own their own are encouraged to bring them. You can register for the program online.

You Need to Know About Toys: The Jersey Cares Coat Drive ended yesterday, but Papa John’s of Hillsborough is still collecting new toys for Toys for Tots. You can drop off the items from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

You Need to Know About Mittens: Kathleen Academy of Dance will collect new mittens and gloves from 5-8 p.m. on weekdays and 10-11 a.m. on Saturdays that will be donated to the United Way. The drive will continue through Dec. 5.

You Need to Know About the Holidays: Amsterdam Elementary Schools hosts a holiday gift fair from 3:30 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the school. Admission is free and most gifts are under $10.
