Catch a Nature Walk or a Show

This week's activities have a seasonal theme.

 

The sounds of Spring?  It's music to our ears and probably yours as well.  It's also the perfect to spend some time out doors.  And if it rains?

Enter our weekly Grab & Go Kids Planner.  It has kid-and-family friendly activities for indoors and outdoors.

Popovich Comedy Pet Theater

Where/When: At 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Community Theatre in Morristown on Sunday, March 20.
Why Go: Because Popovich Comedy Pet Theater includes dozens of animals. You can see Gregory Popovich, a Russian circus performer and juggler.
Pricing: $25, with tickets available online.

Polar Adventure
Where/When: 
Friday, March 18 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Lord Stirling Park Enviornmental Education Center in Basking Ridge.
Why Go: Because children ages 3 to 5 will participate in games and learning with a polar adventure theme.
Pricing: $10 per pair, and $5 per additional child.

Clue Seekers
Where/When: 
Saturday, March 19 at 10:30 am at The Bernards Township Library.
Why Go: It's a musical adventure of hide and seek!
Pricing: Free.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Where/When: 
Saturday, March 19 at 11 a.m. at the Bridgewater Barnes & Noble Booksellers.
Why Go: There will be crafts, activities and a special reading of a beloved children's story.
Pricing: Free.

Leap into Spring
Where/When: 
Saturday, March 19 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the  Lord Stirling Environmental Education Center in Basking Ridge.
Why Go: You can end winter exploring the Great Swamp for frog blobs, tadpoles and frogs.
Pricing: $12 per person.

Family Fun Walk
Where/When: 
Saturday, March 19 at 1:30 p.m. at Duke Farms in Hillsborough.
Why Go: Attendees will bundle up and explore Duke Farms for signs of spring.
Pricing: $8 per person for general admission, or $5 per NJ Audubon member. The cost is not to exceed $20 per family.

Rock n' Roll
Where/When: 
The Basking Ridge Fire Company No. 1 on Saturday, March 19 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Why Go: There's dancing, music and fun all for a great cause.
Pricing: $25 per ticket for general admission, or $20 per senior. Ages 13 and under are admitted free.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Where/When: 
At the Villagers Theatre in Somerset on March 19  and 20.  Saturday performances are noon and 3 p.m.  Sunday performance are noon.
Why Go: Grab your Golden Ticket and adventure along with Charlie Bucket with this comical, musical fantasy.  
Pricing: All tickets are $10.

Dressage Show and Carriage Drive
Where/When:  
Sunday, March 20 with the Lord Stirling Stable in Basking Ridge.
Why Go: View the grandeur and colors of this annual contest.
Pricing: Spectators are welcome to both events at no charge.

Cinderella
Where/When: March 17 through 19 at 7:30 p.m. at Watchung Hills Performing Arts Center in Warren Township.
Why Go: This magic fairy tale is brought to life by our very own talented students.
Pricing: Tickets range from $5 to $15.

St. Patrick's Day Concert
Where/When: 
Saturday, March 19 at 12 p.m. at the Warren Township Library.
Why Go: Children ages 4 and up will participate in music and fun in celebration of St. Patty's Day.
Pricing: Free.

Family Breakfast Feast
Where/When: 
Sunday, March 20 following the 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. masses atOur Lady of The Mount Church in Warren Township.
Why Go: It's a breakfast buffet sponsored by the Knights of Columbus.  You'll help a great cause ... and enjoy pancakes and sausage!
Pricing: $7 per adult and $5 per child, or $22 for a whole family.

The Music of "Clara Schumann"
Where/When: 
Saturday, March 19 at 2 p.m. at the Bridgewater Township Library.
Why Go: Classical music will be made made fun for elementary school aged children and their families. 
Pricing: Free.

Last Call for "Phantom"
Where/When: 
March 18 and 19 at Hillsborough High School at 7 p.m. There will also be a Saturday matinee showing at 1 pm.
Why Go: It will "haunt" you to miss this last opportunity to see this classic Andrew Lloyd Weber musical performed by the talent of Hillsborough High School Theatre.
Pricing: $10.
