Car Overturns on Millstone River Road

Police close road as emergency crews on scene

Hillsborough police closed Millstone River Road between Blackell's Mills Road and Millstone Borough at about 2:15 p.m. Friday, after a vehicle driven by Sunnyside Lane resident Michael Walker, 40, went off the roadway and overturned.

Police said Walker's 2011 Ford F-150 truck was headed north on the road when he struck a utility pole, and went off the roadway. No serious injuries were reported.

Hillsborough Rescue Squad and Hillsborough Fire Co. 3 volunteers also responded to the incident.

Hillsborough police are continuing to investigate the accident.

Either the cops in this town harass residents with traffic stops or there's no traffic enforcement...which is it?

Morning and evening commuters use Amsterdam Drive to practice for Nascar qualifying.

Maria,
It's a general concern over the lack of speed enforcement in the township as voiced by others here.

If you are having problems with speeders, contact the HTPD traffic department and report the problem. Try to be specific..i.e. when school gets out, during the morning commute, etc.

When they respond to your complaint and assign an officer to enforce the traffic laws, don't complain when local residents get tickets.

Since I'm raising the concern, why would I complain if someone is ticketed?

I have to agree with S.G. There are only so many officers in town and they cannot be everywhere all the time.
In reference to why you would complain, because everyone likes to get on a soapbox til it happens in their backyard. So when its your son, wife, mother etc. who gets the ticket when they are running late to work, school etc, don't blame the cop who you wanted to enforce the speed limit, like so many do.

Maria,
Please read more carefully. If I want more enforcement of the speed limit, then I won't be complaining. If you traveled on Amsterdam, then you would know what I'm referring to.
