A single-car accident on River Road Tuesday evening between Beekman Lane and Roycefield Road caused serious damage to a car and closed down the westbound lane.

The car involved overturned during the incident. However, despite the car being destroyed, police at the scene said that the three occupants were not seriously injured in the crash.

The car was reportedly traveling west on River Road when the accident took place.

The state and county had just announced this week that safety improvements will be made on the road with funding from the High Risk Rural Roads Program.
