Bringing Battle Bots to Hillsborough

Watch Lego robots take each other on this weekend.

Robotics fans and Lego lovers will want to stop by Hillsborough High School today, when the school's Robotics team hosts its Lego Robotics tournament.

Not only is it free entertainment—and a chance to see what local middle schoolers are doing with their spare time—but the two-minute matches promise a good show. And it's free to attend too.

Here's what you need to know today:

  1. You Need to Know About Donations: The Auten Road Intermediate School Home and School Association will hold a clothing and household item drive for student Maria Farfan and her family from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the school. If you have old clothes, towels, tablecloths or the like, it will help the HSA raise money for the family.
  2. You Need to Know About Vendors: The Auten Road Intermediate School and Hillsborough Middle School Home and School Associations host a craft and vendor fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at Auten Road School. Get a head start on holiday shopping while also helping the two school groups.
  3. You Need to Know About Robots: The Hillsborough High School RoboRaiders host their BoroBlast Lego Robot tournament for middle schools throughout the county at 1 p.m. today at Hillsborough High School.
  4. You Need to Know About Holidays: The Hillsborough Presbyterian Church hosts a Thanksgiving Brunch and hanging of the greens for the upcoming holiday season from 9:30 a.m. to noon Sunday at the church. It’s a free event.
  5. You Need to Know Where to Adopt: Local cat rescue Carol’s Cats hosts an adoption meet and greet at Pet Valu from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
