When will you use US Military Troops to secure the USA borders against illegal entry by trespassers and drug dealers? (Currently US Military troops are guarding the

You say that the "rich" are anyone making over 200K is that gross or net? Why don't you take the cost of living in the regional areas into account? Compare someone making that amount in a metroplitan area vs. Arkansas. That's why so many people I know have kept their jobs in the NY metro area and relocated their homes to Delaware, NC, anywhere the cost of living is lower.....

It's 250K and it's taxable income, which is after deductions, not gross. In addition it is only the taxable income ABOVE the $250K. Anything $250K or below would remain the same. Earning that much money puts you in the top 2% of all earners. Chances are if you were doing the same job in AR you would not be earning the same amount you are in the NY metropolitan area.

The sad irony is that most ordinary Americans making less than 250k pay lower taxes under Obama than they would under Romney. These middle class Americans hate Obama and accuse him of being a socialist when all he is doing is giving the middle class a break. The richest Americans and corporations can afford to pay a higher tax rate, and it doesn't discourage investment like so many believe. Romney would increase the tax rate on the middle class, that's a fact. And if you think trickle down economics works, I have a bridge I want to sell you. Obama has done many other good things as well, for example trying to penalize corporations which ship American jobs overseas. But Republicans killed that bill.

If people bothered to actually look into the things Obama has done or tried to do they might realize that he is done a pretty good job. But instead people are focused on calling him names and trying to convince people that he is a Muslim etc. So if you make less than 250k and want to pay higher taxes, go back to deregulating the banks, have the country get involved in more wars etc go ahead and vote for Romney. I thought America had enough of that crap in 2008. Guess America is getting nostalgic for the Bush era.

Why should corporations be penalized for outsourcing work? People can complain "Dey tuk er jobs" all day, but punishing companies for outsourcing is just going to result in more expensive labor, with the extra cost passed on to the consumer.

Although it's unpopular among both parties, almost 90% of economists agree that free trade is more good than bad for us.

And Obamacare throws the President's "no taxes on earners under $250k" promise out the window.

uhm ridgewood? because Americans need jobs? was this a trick question? Guess you were not in West Milford today when resident after resident complained about lack of jobs and business opportunities, and astronomical taxes to Governor Christie.
It always mystifies me when people suggest 'that sucking sound of jobs leaving the country' (Ross Perot) is a good one and that the reverse sound of the return of good paying jobs for Americans and the construction of store factories and infra structure is a bad thing because people might get better wages working conditions and benefits?
Does the phrase all boats rise register with you at all?

Are you seriously asking why Americans should have an interest in keeping jobs for Americans?

No, the sad irony is that most ordinary Americans buy a lot of crap that was made in China. People don't seem to get that if you stop buying the junk, and start buying and demanding American made goods (or, heck, at least North, Central or South American), then and only then will you stop the flood of slave-labor produced toxic Chinese junk into this country.

Mr Keni,
I think that you really need to do additional research. Trickle down means government taxing the very wealthy and hoping that this creates jobs for the middle class. It doesn't work, never has and never will.... once you kill the desire to succeed and the small, medium and large entrepreneurs in the world... we are really in a bad situation. Secondly I am not voting for Obama and it has nothing to do with his race or nationality. That is what all of you left wingers want to pin on us.... Patsy Ann Smith

Very well said Nordrom! I 100% agree with what you said. It is sort of like a cow routing for Burger King---when the middle class, latino's, african americans, etc. vote republican! Remember--Obama is a Socialist Muslim who hates Christmas and wants to take away your guns! lol!

Nordrom you are sadly mistaken. Take a study in history to fully understand what supply-siders like Romney believe. By lowering rates across the board, you increase the base (the amount of people paying taxes) so tax revenues to the govt. actually go up. Coupled with limits on deductions & closing loopholes (which will definitely hit upper income folks much more than middle) you also increase revenue. JFK did it, Reagan did it. It works there is no doubt about it and it's what this economy desperately needs.
Obamacare alone will level serious tax increases on the people who can afford them the least, not to mention we will become even more a HAVE/HAVE NOT society when it comes to health care. Ever hear of concierge physicians? People who have the money will pay for this service, their doctors will put them in a special category and give them priority. Meantime, everyone else will have to wait months to see a doctor. It's a big farce.
Lastly, do you realize there are now 23 milliion people unemployed -- AT LEAST. Unemployment among blacks AND women is 14%, 48 million people are on food stamps! WAKE UP! Do you truly believe 4 more years of the same is going to change this course? AND there is a new report out just last night about all the WASTE of taxpayer money that was the stimulus! It is going to amount to 6-700 million in wasted taxpayer funds by the time it's all said and done. Please, start opening your eyes before November 6th.

One more thing - I won't recommend FOX, but just TRY watching Larry Kudlow at 7pm on CNBC for one week. If you walk away not having learned one thing then I give up. He has top economists, top business people on, who only want to see this country get back on the right track again. If you are going to demonize everyone on Wall St, you are also making a big mistake. Sure there are some bad apples, but not all finance people are evil. Stop buying into that junk! The reason the economy tanked so bad is because of the Dodd/Frank bill that forced banks to give loans to potential homeowners who couldn't afford to pay their mortgages! It was a bubble that was bound to burst and fyi, Bush wasn't a saint by any means, but he DID try to reverse the course Fanny & Freddie were on - congress fought him that is a fact. If you want to believe your own history, than so be it.

Chu said in 2008 he wanted gasoline prices in America to get to the European level, which is $9 or $10 a gallon. Did Chu really say that? Yes, but he said it before he became energy secretary and before Obama won the 2008 presidential election. Shortly after becoming energy secretary, Chu said it would be “completely unwise to want to increase the price of gasoline.”

That poll you refered to was only about the debate, not a poll on how voters intended to vote. If you check the polls that ask likely voters how they would vote Obama did not gain any points as a result of this debate.

In their first polls conducted partly after the second presidential debate, both Gallup and Rasmussen Reports show that Mitt Romney has extended his lead over President Obama among likely voters.

Sorry but you lost the bet. You can send my dollar to the Romney Ryan campaign, thank you.

Long Time Resident,

The bet was about whether or not Obama made out the better because of the second debate and whether or not we would see that in the polls by the end of the week. By whichever measure, that is precisely what we see.

Pick a poll. In half of them, Obama is currently in the lead. In the other half of them, Romney is listed as in the lead for the popular vote and behind in the electoral contest.

Let's take one of the polls that leans to the right- Rasmussen. In the days between the first and second debate, Romney was gaining increasing traction with gradual increases all the way up to being several percentage points ahead of Obama the day of the debate. Since, Rasmussen has shown a decrease in Romney's lead up to the point of them being tied 47%/47% just the other day. It now shows Obama to be one point behind Romney, but my point was spot on. Obama came out the better from the second debate and we can now see it in the subsequent polls leading up to the end of the week.

Sorry Ridgewood Mom but I disagree with your assessment. How about we call this bet a draw and bet on who wins the election instead. That way there will be no way the bet is subjective, debateable or subject to opinion. Care to make another bet your gonna regret?
